Kotare is 375 effective hectares of summer moist/ winter cold country situated up the top of the Maraetotara district near Taurapa. Horizon Farming Limited leases this block. The property is currently part of the Beef and Lamb Genetics Central Progeny Test program that is trialing different sires to determine both production and meat characteristic traits.
